Should Greenburgh Ban Plastic Bags?

Greenburgh is considering whether to ban the use of plastic bags in the town, and according to Town Supervisor Paul Feiner, there is a recommendation from the Conservation Advisory Council not to ban but to charge a fee to discourage their use. Below is the notice Feiner sent out to residents, officials and staff discussing the issue, and the council's recommendation: Should plastic bags be banned? For about a year the Conservation Advisory Council, made up of Greenburgh residents, has been studying the issue.
