No more hate

The Anti-Defamation League has pulled together 10 New York mayors - led by Bill de Blasio - who have all pledged to fight hate and extremism by signing the Mayors' Compact to Combat Hate, Extremism and Bigotry. "Now is the time for us to come together to oppose the hate and extremism we are seeing across the country, including right here at home in towns and cities across New York State," said Evan Bernstein, ADL's New York regional director, in a release.

Hastings Schools Focusing On Hate Issues After Swastika Found

Students in the Hastings-on-Hudson school district are learning a lot more than reading, writing and math after a swastika was found in one of its schools on Wednesday. The Nazi symbol, etched on a piece of paper in an art room at the Farragut Complex of the middle-high school building, was discovered by students.

Confederate Monument In Greenburgh Symbol Of Reconciliation, Feiner Says

A 60-foot tall monument to Confederate soldiers in Hastings-on-Hudson should remain in place and be seen as a symbol of reconciliation rather than of the Confederacy or white supremacy, Town Supervisor Paul Feiner said. The monument is located in the southwest corner of Mount Hope Cemetery near the intersection of Jackson Avenue and Saw Mill River Road.
