A Hastings-on-Hudson man is facing a felony drug charge after being busted with nearly two pounds of marijuana in the Rivertowns by a Greenburgh drug task force. Following an investigation into the sale of marijuana in the Rivertowns, which was conducted by members of the Greenburgh Drug and Alcohol Task Force, police arrested 34-year-old Christopher Varley on Thursday, March 30 on charges of second-degree criminal possession of marijuana and criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor.

Norbert Sander, the only New Yorker to win the New York City marathon, who turned the Armory in Washington Heights into one of the country's premier venues for indoor track, died March 17. He was 74. His death was described as unexpected; no cause was given.
