Breastfeeding mothers can now donate excess milk to help needy moms and babies, thanks to a new program at Nathan Littauer Hospital. The hospital announced at a press briefing Friday that it is now a state-approved milk depot, one of more than 30 such receiving centers throughout New York gathering milk for distribution by the New York Milk Bank, Hastings-on-Hudson.

Police in suburban New York say they're searching for suspects who broke into businesses and a local fire department to steal cash and apparently grab a bite to eat. Hastings-on-Hudson police say the thieves targeted five buildings in the village, getting away with cash from a diner and a big-screen TV from a firehouse early Wednesday morning.

Learn About Plans For Route 9

The Route 9 Active Transportation Conceptual Design Plan will hold meetings on Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Mercy College and on Thursday, Oct. 19 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Warner Library in Tarrytown. The organization wants to provide a protected bike lane along Route 9 from the north end of Sleepy Hollow through the south end of Hastings-on-Hudson.
