More Than 800 Attend Thanksgiving Dinner For Homeless In Westchester

HUDSON, N.Y. More than 800 guests attended Project SHARE's 25th annual Thanksgiving Dinner for the homeless at Hastings-on-Hudson High School on Tuesday, Nov. 25. In addition to the numerous guests, hundreds of volunteers from schools and organizations all over Westchester County prepared and served the dinner which included live music in addition to a family-style meal. Project SHARE is a service club for high school students that engage in social justice activities and charitable projects, like Midnight Run where food is delivered to homeless people.

The 17-year-old Hastings-on-Hudson High School senior handed the keys to the Admiral Farragut Post 1195 back over to local veterans Tuesday, Veterans Day after renovating its lower level.

Feds: Contractor lied about using minority businesses at St. George Ferry Terminal renovation

A former manger of a construction firm lied about using minority-owned businesses, as required, on multimillion-dollar contacts for renovations at the St. George Ferry Terminal and the Bronx-Whitestone Bridge, allege federal prosecutors. Aaron Tubbs, 43, of upstate Hastings-on-Hudson, was charged with wire fraud stemming from the scheme, which occurred in 2008 and 2009, according to Preet Bharara, U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York.
